Winter vacations can be pleasantly different: go down valley in a horse-drawn sleigh instead of on skis. Sledding or bobsledding doesn't mean fun for just the little ones alone. Alta Pusteria's perfectly-groomed sled runs go for kilometers on end and to you a whole new experience. You can sled all day and even at night sometimes when the circuit stays open for this very reason.
The Monte Baranci sled run can be reached from San Candido in 10 minutes by chairlift on the path alongside the run. The run is 3 kilometers long with a 320 m drop in elevation.
The Croda Rossa sled run. Take the Sesto Croda Rossa cableway to get to the start of the run in 10 minutes or hike the distance in 2 hours. Stop for quick refreshment at the Croda Rossa Prati Mountain Hut and then ride your sled for 5 kilometers on a 690 m height difference all the way to the bottom.
Night-time sledding is possible from Christmas on every Thursday on the Croda Rossa run, where the circuit operates from 20.30 to 22.00. This makes every winter vacation in South Tyrol a special event!
