Fun for kids in Alta Pusteria Valley: around Versciaco there are plenty of adventure parks and playgrounds for the youngest guests, hiking trails for the whole family lead across the Dolomites, and all you have to know about the World Heritage of the Dolomites will be brought to you in a playful way. There is even a climbing garden for our little visitors and their friends!

It is no secret that people of the Pusteria Valley love their homeland. Spring and summer offer solemn but pleasurable religious processions – the perfect chance to see the coloured costumes and listen to traditional folk music! In June, bonfires are lit all over the region to remember our ancestors who fought for South Tyrol’s freedom. In September, visitors and locals marvel at the “transumanza”, when the shepherds bring back the livestock from the pastures. Thanksgiving is a very important event as well in this fertile, genuine landscape.
San Candido’s eventful history and tradition are reflected by the village’s architecture. Since Illyrian times, the village is a true treasure chest for culture fans, who admire the monastery with its church, consecrated to St. Candidus and Korbinian. No wonder – in the heart of the Dolomites, surrounded by tranquilising and inspiring nature... hiking, biking, relaxing at the Post Alpina spa or running through the mystic woods, this is the perfect place for slowing down!
A true classic: the Tre Cime (“3 summits”) are the Alta Pusteria’s landmark. They provide many climbing routes of various difficulties and make this site one of the most famous in the Alps. Follow the footsteps of famous alpinists around the Dreischusterspitze (Cima Tre Scarperi) or get trained indoors: at Italy’s highest climbing gym in Sesto. The climbing tower near the Grand Hotel in Dobbiaco (16 m) is not only a perfect training challenge but also fun, and at the rock climbing centre Landro near the lake of the same name everyone can give this fantastic sport a try!
Have fun on the toboggan! Even in summer, Monte Baranci offers fun sports for everyone. The Funbob Baranci is the longest summer tobogganing track in Italy. An adventure for kids and grown-ups!
