Bicycle track Alta Pusteria – Sillian (Austria)
From San Candido the track leads to the national border with Austria. We cross Sillian and go to Lienz across Eastern Tirol. This is a
family-friendly bike tour on even ground, which can be extended or shortened according to your wishes (the bike trail leads to Brunico and through the whole Val Pusteria until Bressanone). Almost in every locality, famous side valleys branch off – like the Val di Landro with its beautiful lake.

Val di Landro – Prato Piazza – Monte Specie
The tour starts directly at the hotel and leads to the Via Rienza in San Candido, where the Val di Landro branches off. We pass the Dobbiaco Lake and cross the even grounds of the valley, along the
cross-country skiing track near the old railroad tracks. From Landro Lake, we follow a small river to Valle di Sluderno. After Carbonin, we turn right into the forest path no. 3, where you will enjoy a fantastic
panoramic view of the Dolomites. The Monte Specie, which is reached after 200 additional metres of altitude, offers magnificent views. The return trip leads to Prato Piazza, from where a tarred road leads back to the valley (alternative: the shortcut no. 37). Some detours lead to the small locality Säge.

Alpine tour of Monte Baranci
From the Post Alpina go to San Candido and continue toward Sesto along the Sesto river. At the intersection with the Campo di Dentro valley, the itinerary continues up to the Tre Scarperi Refuge, where everyone’s efforts will be rewarded with a grappa. Continue climbing to the San Candido mountain, known as Monte Baranci, and then descend to San Candido along the ski slope and return to the Post Alpina. The Monte Baranci tour is a very interesting itinerary that will take you into the heart of the legendary world of the Dolomites.

Excursion to Lienz
The excursion from the Post Alpina continues easily for 2 hours over a slight descent until Lienz, the capital of the nearby Austrian region of eastern Tyrol. From there, you can take a train up to San Candido, in Alta Val Pusteria, and return by bike to the Post Alpina. There are three villages along the road to Lienz where it is possible to take a train back, if anyone doesn’t feel like continuing after biking 10 or 20 km.

Val Fiscalina
How about a tour along larch pastures until you arrive in Sesto at the foot of the
Sesto Dolomites with their famous "sundial" – a panoramic view of the majestic summits in the surroundings. In Moso (mark no. 102) a route branches off to beautiful Val Fiscalina, one of the most famous valleys in the Dolomites. The trail leads to the hut at the very end of the vally, where you can have a rest and eat something as well. There is also the possibility of using public transport by taking the bus San Candido – Moso.

Itinerary for connoisseurs to the San Candido Mountain
From the Post Alpina cross the parking area of Monte Elmo and continue to the Almhof or just a bit further to the Kathi restaurant. After a pleasant gastronomic break continue toward the San Candido mountain up to Dobbiaco, from where you will return to the Dolce Vita Chalet through the woods.
The San Candido mountain is a classic bike itinerary during which you can
admire incredible panoramic views over the entire Alta Val Pusteria.

Tour to the "Markinkele"
At San Candido we take the bike-trail to Sesto, than we take the tramway to get to the Mount Elmo and from there starts the tour
b) We start at San Candido, take the “Burgweg”-Trail direction “Chapel of the forest”, pass the “Jägerhütte” and get to the restaurant on top of the Mount Elmo . Than we pass the rifugio “Gallo Cedrone”, after that we descend to the “Leckfeldhütte”. When we get to the “Forcherkaser” we turn left and go on until the “Pojaufer Kaser” until we get back to the town Versciaco. On the biketrail we go back to San Candido.

Sextner Grenzkamm Tour
From the bike trail in San Candido the trail leads south into the Valle di Sesto. After the main village Sesto we reach the
Passo Monte Croce, where the road turns left and leads into the forest path no. 131. On your way back to the valley, follow the course of the path which suddenly leads upwards in the direction of the mountain restaurant Monte Elmo. From here you continue to the Hahnspiel hut, where the trail no. 4 leads along the ridge of the Sesto Dolomites until you reach the Sillian hut on Austrian ground. Follow the steep descending trail to the
Leckfeld hut and a wide forest path to Sillian. From here, the bike trail leads back to San Candido.

Fanes-Senes-Tour
Take the
bike shuttle to Pederü, where you follow the old military road heading to the Fanes hut and the Passo Limo. After a short detour to the Grande Malga di Fanes pasture, follow the path no. 10 and the gravel path until arriving almost the main road of Cortina. The trail leads to the La Stüa hut on partially tarred ground. Pass the hut and follow the gravel road along the Boitenbach river to the Senes hut. From the Fodera Vegla hut, a steep, curved gravel track leads back to the Pederü hut. Return to the hotel by bike or by public transport across San Vigilio, Maria Saalen, Brunico and San Candido.
